PAINTED DRUM GALLERY

Drums make me so very happy. There is a uniqueness to painting on a musical instrument. A stretched skin hoop drum mimics a canvas, sound and color creates a symphony in the image painted. This is joy, this is the love in creating art.

This page features some of the paintings I have created on drum heads. I paint these in acrylic and is sealed with an Acrylic varnish.  It will not scratch off unless something really abrasive is used on the surface. I have my Ashiko drum head painted that I use to play hard on and it still looks great.  The work I have done on drums is personal, symbolic, one of a kind pieces. Some are used for spiritual work, others for display.

Paintings start from $400.00, simple detail on a 14 inch hoop drum to a full detailed painting for $1600.00 on a 20 inch hoop drum head. It would be an honor to paint a Mother Drum. I get my drums from The Different Drum by Don Schulz and cost extra depending on size, skin type, etc.
